Just time to forget about freediving and enjoy your holiday (I can bug you later on that) When your in Paris, I'll contact Julia, see how realistic it is for you to meet her. "gav"
Interesting to see what you think of Paris when you have time to continue your blog.
I remember far to many smokers in the bars/pubs. Another thing that comes to mind is how incredibly worn the steps in Notre Dame are, I like that Gothic style of architecture.
See the Mona Lisa?, I remember it been this tiny painting, always thought it was huge til I saw it.
just mumbling as usual, But I'm remembering alot of things about my time in Paris now
Make sure you go to Sacre Couer it's great up there at night.
Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday...how will you celebrate it I wonder?
Congrats on your 6th place. I can't believe the winner did 8 mins! That is amazing.
Keep enjoying your trip. Nice to read about your holiday. When you get a chance have a look at our wedding website... http://elizabethandgareth.weddingannouncer.com
In early 2009 I started some professional remote coaching. For a small fee freedivers from around the world can work with me over a series of 8 weeks. We will discuss all aspects of freediving technique and work through perfecting no fins with some general tips that will help you to achieve your freediving goals.
I'm pleased with how the process worked with my first two students Bjarte Nygard and Christian Ernest, both of whom made DNF finals at the world chamionships in Denmark. I'm happy to work with all levels of freedivers, the only pre-requisite is enthusiasm and an open mind!
*Ex World record holder for Dynamic without fins: 151m (plus 4x unoffical world records in this event).
* Currently ranked in the world all time top 2 women for Dynamic no fins and Static apnea
*Winner of 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at 2009 ADIA individual indoor world championships. World Champion in Static apnea 2011 plus silver in dynamic without fins.
*2008 ICARE trophy: voted "world's best female freediver" and runner up in 2012.
*Has set 25 NZ women's records across all competition freediving disciplines
*Member of the Breathtakers Freediving Club (Manawatu, Wairarapa, NZ - find us on Facebook).
*Runs Freedivers in Manawatu/Wairarapa NZ: www.freedivers.co.nz - coaching, courses and gear sales
*Lazy Seal Freediving Club, Wellington co-founder
My sponsors:
Firecrest Systems, a Palmerston North (NZ) and UK based marketing and web design firm have created a beautiful website for me that will help me to self-promote and will assist to draw further sponsorship in the future. They have also assisted me financially by paying my entry fee to the World Champs 2011. www.FirecrestSystems.com
I wear ORCA wetsuits. The Orca Free was designed specifically for Freediving and definitely works the best of anything I've ever tried. The Orca Breathe is the new entry level, and very affordable freediving suit - very fast and comfortable. http://www.orca.com/
ORCA now allows me to sell their wetsuits as a fundraiser for my diving. Please email me if you are interested in purchasing one of these fantastic suits at a great price. We can ship them all over the world at reasonable prices: info@freedivers.co.nz
If anyone is interested in sponsoring an experienced freediver with proven performance experience, please contact me directly via email through my website or leave me a comment on one of my posts. Any level of support would be greatly appreciated.
Static Apnea (STA) breath hold time in the pool Dynamic Apnea (DYN) distance swum in pool on a single breath, usually in a monofin Dynamic without fins (DNF) distance swum in pool on a single breath without the use of fins Constant weight (CW) depth dived to and returned from on a single breath, usually in a monofin, the diver follows a rope but can not pull on it except for at the turn and must return to the surface with the same equipment they left with Constant weight without fins (CNF) as above but without the use of fins Free Immersion (FIM) depth dived without fins but the diver may pull on the rope Variable Weight (VAR) non-competition event where the diver goes as deep as possible but may drop weight at the bottom for an easier descent and ascent No Limits non-competition event where the diver rides a sled as deep as they can and then fills an air bag to ride back to the surface as seen on the film "The Big Blue"
